What is it and how does it work?
Braces are simply handles on your teeth that allow Dr. Shane to move your teeth using wires and other tooth-moving aides.
Your braces are placed at the beginning of treatment, and at each appointment wires and aides are used to move the teeth based on the progress you have made between appointments. Unlike aligners like Invisalign, movements are planned in Real Time based on how your body reacts to treatment, and braces are still the most reliable treatment option for complex movements. In conjunction with elastics, the braces allow us not only to move and rotate individual teeth, but work to align your overall bite which is crucial not only for the aesthetic results, but for your long term dental and physical health.
